Chris Ivey

Chris Ivey is the Founder and CEO of Resolute Leadership Group. He spent 20 years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy, leading high-performing teams around the world in high-stakes environments.

Chris served as the 10th Commanding Officer of the guided missile destroyer, USS SPRUANCE (DDG 111), where he developed the ship’s highest levels of combat, personnel, engineering, logistics, technology, operations, and combat readiness. Under his leadership, USS SPRUANCE achieved benchmark performance across seven cross-functional departments and went on to perform flawlessly in combat operations shortly after his command tour. Chris left command as the highest performing Commanding Officer in the Navy’s most decorated Destroyer Squadron.

In his final Navy assignment, Chris facilitated the Navy’s Command Leadership Development Program at the Naval Leadership and Ethics Center. There, he delivered impactful leadership development to future Commanding Officers across all Navy communities—from SEALs to Submariners, Aviators, Human Resource Officers, Surface Warfare Officers, Medical Corps Officers, Supply Corps Officers, and JAG Corps Officers.

Chris believes leadership is the art of accomplishing a mission through people—and doing it well starts with trust. His coaching focuses on building strong teams, decision making, risk management, intentional culture, and psychological safety while keeping leadership deeply human.

He founded Resolute Leadership Group to continue his passion and help senior leaders across the civilian and military sectors MAKE EXCELLENCE ROUTINE.
