During a historic deployment to the Red Sea, he led his team through the most intense naval combat since World War II with some of the oldest command and control aircraft in the fleet. Under his command, he challenged his unit to synthesize legacy technology with human innovation in combat resulting in the successful kinetic engagement of 44 hostile drones while managing the "sensor-to-shooter" loop in real-time with just a crew of 5 under the extreme pressure. His leadership culminated in the 2024 Battle Efficiency Award, distinguishing his organization as the top performer in operational and administrative excellence throughout the fleet.

Beyond the cockpit, Alex is an expert in talent optimization and organizational design. As a community manager, he directed the talent management and career pathway for 810 aviation professionals across 14 commands globally. He specializes in the integration of disparate units—merging diverse human capabilities and multi-billion dollar technology suites into a single, goal-oriented cohesive system.

Alex holds a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star, Air Medal with Combat “C” and the Combat Action Ribbon, honors earned through 144 combat missions and a career spent leading at the edge of the possible, and is proven to MAKE EXCELLENCE ROUTINE.
